We had a fantastic Magoebaskloof Berry Festival this year. Thank you to everyone who came to join in the fun! We had a record number of visitors to the farm and taking part in lots of fun events and activities over the weekend including picking delicious organic blueberries! Look out for next year’s Berry Festival happening in early February!
Our annual Welly Wanging competition is back and we have been told by quite a few of last year’s contestants that they have spent the last year perfecting their gumboot throwing skills so be sure to pop in and check out the action this year below the Mountain Cafe throughout Saturday and Sunday.
The Berry Trail Run will be taking place on Sunday morning with registrations between 07:00 and 07:45. Races start at 08:00. The routes follow a beautiful forested trail along Ebenezer dam and Stanford Lake. There will be three races available – 3km, 5.5km and 9km catering to all levels from beginner to expert. The race is a fun event for the whole family to enjoy. Cost: R50 per person (including goody bag for kids under 12) which goes towards raising money for the Magoebaskloof Tourism Association.
We have a lot of live music on offer this year with some great bands taking part in the Festival. We will have live music throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday starting at 9am (free entry) and then there is a great show planned for Saturday night starting at 18:30 (R40 at the door) inside the Mountain Cafe on the farm. Artists include: Jahworx, Barefoot Breeze, Framus, and Jacques Mouton. Have a look at the Facebook Event for more details!
So don’t be sure to miss this year’s Berry Festival which promises to be the biggest one yet! For more information have a look at the Berry Festival website or keep up to date by following the Facebook page.
